I guess I didn't knock on wood

This is how I feel about my foot's progress and then subsequent regression back to pain:

  1. You're not in DC, are you? On the off-chance you are, I can offer an excellent referral for treatment.

  2. Damon--I am, I live in Bethesda. I'm seeing someone at Sports & Spinal PT downtown right now and think he has some good insights. This is the third PT I've seen for this issue but am always open to suggestions! Thanks!

  3. The tri team I founded a couple of years ago, which contains highly competitive amateur (and in some cases professional) athletes, has had a lot of success with our partnership with Airosti Rehab Centers (http://www.airrosti.com/). They're kind of a unique outfit in that they don't believe in the standard model of soft-tissue care, in which athletes are subjected to months of physical therapy. Instead, they are pretty confident that they can fix many soft-tissue problems in only a couple of intensive visits. I was skeptical at first, but I've had several friends use them, in some cases to treat seemingly serious and seemingly intractable problems (ITB, plantar fasciitis, and more), and the feedback is uniformly "I should have used them a lot sooner." At least a few of them have overcome pretty serious issues quickly enough to keep competing without missing a beat. I haven't used Airrosti personally -- I've been fortunate enough to stay injury-free since I first heard of them -- but they're absolutely worth checking out if you've had it with other places. If you do head over there, I'd appreciate it if you'd let them know that someone on Ignite Endurance referred you. And, of course, I'd be interested in knowing how it goes for you.
