#10 PRs are still possible
After 10 years and at age 54, I hit two new prs this year. They were in the middle distances which make sense since I have largely lost my top gear (which wasn't much to begin with) and I begin to wear down after 15-17 miles for a marathon. But in the middle, the times are looking better than ever.
Many thanks to Spencer for inviting me to join. However, I see that you are all young chickens here. I ran my first marathon last May after turning 60 a few weeks earlier, a few seconds over 4 hours. If you can make it out here for the Big Sur Marathon, I highly recommend it. One spends more time admiring the California coast than contemplating pains and worries about cramping up. I will run my third half-marathon next weekend, also in Monterey.
