While all eyes were trained on London last week

turns out there was a marathon in North Korea open for the first time to amateur runners from outside the Hermit Kingdom.  How did we miss that?

    Dear Max Huffman,

Thanks for your interest. I am Pau and I will be happy to assess you with your trip to North Korea, also known as DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea). I am glad to know that you want to participate in Pyongyang Marathon 2015; running through the streets of Pyongyang is a unique and exclusive lifetime experience!

After the great success of International Marathon of Pyongyang 2014 we are excited to announce that the next year’s inscriptions are opened and dates are confirmed!! In order to secure your spot, we would need the following from you:

    - Type of marathon that you want to join: Full (42.195km), Half (21.1km) or Mini (10km).

    - Passport color scanning, the page with the photo.

    - A scanned passport photo size in color.

    - Attached visa application completed, signed and scanned (see word document). *Please open the word document and fill it up with the computer before printing, we cannot accept handwritten forms

-Regulations Document signed: every tourist traveling to the DPRK must sign this document accepting the regulations stated.

Once you send all the information to us we will review it and get back to you. Please note that spots for next year will also be limited and we are working on a first come first served basis.

I am looking forward to hearing from you with the above information and that you will have the chance of experiencing this once in a lifetime experience.

Also find attached a small picture selection of this year’s marathon which was an amazing success.

    Best Regards,
