A very hilly and warm Half this morning at Blenheim Palace. I will take the 1.46.20 bc my hips were locked like iron from a massive rowing sesh yesterday and training for the Amsterdam Marathon two weeks today has been death march after death march so I wasn't expecting anything fab today, but as it was my first race since Roma it was so nice to lace em up again! Son did the 10k in same race. Pics below. When will I speed back up to my usual though?!!!!! Next year I will focus and try to get a better balance of rowing and running!
Bravo!! A 1:46 half is perfect two weeks out from a Marathon!! Now rest, rest, rest!! And stretch, stretch, stretch!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and why do you always look so happy when you're running??
ReplyDeleteProbably because the photos are taken at the end, this one by R, who had promised eggs Benny for afters, so I had two reasons to smile! Have a couple of 2k erg tests this week and next, sadly, for rowing, and some light clippy runs planned, but yes, the legs need rest and the hips need to stretch!!
ReplyDeleteNicely done. Thanks for reporting on it! How did we (I, at least) not know you were racing two weeks from now?! Rest, recover, and knock it out of the park!
