the California International Marathon, December 8th, Sacramento. Why International? Who knows? But a gentle 400 foot descent over the length of the course. And Max approved! Plus I can do my long runs in the late fall instead of the heat of the summer. Just hope I make it to the start line in one piece.
Awesome.
ReplyDeleteBig Sur uses the "International" branding, too (BSIM). No idea why. The races are of similar vintage, so maybe it was a big deal in the early 80s.
Actually, I know it was a big deal in the early 80s. A new paper topic: what do marathons (CIM (first running 1983)), antitrust (FTAIA(1982)), and popular music ("Gotta compete with the wily Japanese" -- Not Now John (1983)) have in common?
I'll see you in California. We can compare notes on the Ferguson-less Premier League.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to meeting you before or after the race.
